Ranger Veteran Ironbreaker Outcast Engineer |
Description[ | ]
"A study shield, bearing hidden name-runes of more than fifty dwarfen heroes. He who bears this bulwark walks in the shadow of glory, and feels a powerful urge to prove his worth."
- In-game description, Dalkaringrund
Advantages[ | ]
- As with all weapon and shield setups, this weapon can generate large amounts of temporary health with its Shield Push and Shield Bash moves, when used with talents that generate temporary health when you stagger enemies.
- High stagger values keep most enemies stunned as you attack them.
- As with all weapon/shield combinations, you can block more attacks than normal weapons. This includes the Rat Ogre's ground slams, and ranged attacks such as the Ratling Gunner's and Deathrattler's bullets. If used by the Grail Knight, you can also block the Warpfire Thrower's fire.
Disadvantages[ | ]
- Ideal attack combos mix Light Attacks with Heavy Attacks vs. Hordes, and Push Attacks with Light Attacks vs. armoured elites and monsters. This makes for a relatively complex weapon to attack with.
- Moderate movement slowdown while attacking, large slowdown while blocking, low dodge count and no dodge distance bonus combine for low overall mobility.
- With its modest cleaving and low overall damage, this weapon struggles in situations that require killing enemy units quickly.
