Fanatics are a type of Chaos Infantry in Vermintide 2.
Fanatics use improvised or rusted hand weapons and wear rags rather than armor. They are the weakest members of the Rotblood Tribe and make up the bulk of their forces, along with Marauders.
Description
Compared to the other Rotbloods, Fanatics are sickly, emaciated, and covered in bandages instead of armor. They are likely conscripted from Empire citizens infected with Nurgle's Rot or Nurgle-worshiping cult members.
Strategy
- Compared to Raiders and Bulwarks, Fanatics can be very quiet when approaching heroes and can thus sneak up for an unexpected hit. Be sure to check your surroundings when encountering Chaos forces.
- Fanatics can spawn in massive hordes to overwhelm their opponents. Therefore, AoE attacks are extremely effective at thinning the horde, as are penetrating ranged weapons and melee weapons with high cleave, as they can hit multiple Fanatics and wipe out large amounts of them fast.
- If surrounded, shoving the Fanatics works very well at creating space to breathe and move.
